what do I get each month?

two carefully curated coffees that explore origin, varietal and process. the exact formats may change month to month (e.g, 125g/200g mixes), but the overall value always matches or exceeds the subscription price. tasting notes and brew guidance included.

if you order a 4x subscription, you will recieve two boxes of each coffee.

is the coffee whole bean or ground?

whole bean only. our coffees are roasted light and shine when ground fresh.

when do you roast and ship?

we roast to a monthly schedule and ship in one batch. your dispatch date is shown on the product page and in your confirmation email.

if you ordered a 2-week subscription, you'll get a second shipment roughly 2 weeks after the initial batch. the specific date can vary slightly.

should I rest my coffee before tasting?

always! freshly roasted coffee benefits from a short rest for sweetness and clarity. we typically begin tasting from day 14; many coffees peak between week 3 and week 5. particularly dense lots taste lovely at 6 weeks and beyond.

can I pause, skip, or cancel?

yes. manage everything in your subscriber portal - skip a month, pause, cancel, or change quantities at any time.

can I change my address or payment method?

absolutely, update details anytime in the portal. please do this before the monthly billing date.

can I add extra items to ship with my subscription?

yes, add coffees and gear in your portal and they’ll ship with your next box. subscribers get 15% off extra items and early access to limited releases.

will the coffees be espresso-friendly?

our roast approach is light and versatile. many coffees work beautifully for both filter and modern espresso. each coffee details whether it's best suited for espresso, filter or omni roast.

what if I don’t like a coffee I’ve been sent?

taste is subjective - and part of the joy here. our subscription is a guided journey through process and terroir, featuring distinctive coffees that won’t always taste the same. the fun is in trying, comparing, and discovering what you love.

can I swap out certain coffees?

not for the monthly selection. each edition is curated by our roastery team to highlight a theme (e.g., process vs terroir, varietal contrasts, regional character). if a month isn’t your style, you can skip or pause from your subscriber portal, or add extras with your 15% subscriber discount.

what are shipping costs and delivery times?

shipping is included for certain countries. otherwise, these are shown at checkout based on destination and service. you’ll receive tracking once your order ships.

what are duties & taxes (international orders)?

these depend on destination. where supported, taxes are shown at checkout; otherwise they may be collected on delivery by your local carrier.

how can I gift a subscription to someone?

we're working on setting this up to be even easier in the future! for now, the best way to gift a subscription is:

  1. create a new order with the subscription of your choice,
  2. during checkout, use the gift recipient's address as the shipping address,

once confirmed, you'll see the subscription in your account along side any other subscriptions you have. you can edit, pause, or cancel it from there. in the future, you'll also be able to transfer the subscription to someone.

what if my parcel is delayed or arrives damaged?

if your order is late, lost, or damaged, contact coffee@cafen.co.uk within 7 days of delivery (with photos for damage) and we’ll sort a replacement or solution.

how do you choose the coffees?

we source from long-term partners whose work we admire, selecting lots for distinctiveness, clarity, and sweetness. each month’s pair is chosen to tell a story - process vs terroir, varietal contrasts, regional character, and more.

do subscribers get anything else?

yes! live online tastings with our roasting team, early access to special releases, and the ongoing 15% subscriber discount for add-ons.

when am I billed?

monthly auto-renew on the 1st of each month (GMT). changes made after billing apply to the following cycle. prepaid terms auto-renew at the end of the period unless you disable auto-renew beforehand.

can I change the quantity each month?

yes, adjust bag counts or sizes in your portal before the monthly billing date.
